Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said that the provincial government cannot uplift the province with its limited resources at its disposal, urging the federal government to also announce a package for the northern part of the region similar to the one announced for the South Balochistan.
He said that the federal government's payment of Rs36 billion from the Sui Mining Lease will improve the financial situation of the province.
The chief minister said this in a meeting with Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjarani, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Finance Shaukat Tareen.
The federal ministers assured the CM of full support for the overall development of Balochistan.
They discussed in detail about implementation and progress of development projects in Balochistan.
The meeting also reviewed issues related to the development of Gwadar and the protection of people's rights and employment.
Senate chairman and federal ministers expressed satisfaction over the peaceful and smooth conclusion of Gwadar sit-in and protests.
It was decided in the meeting that an agreement with Gwadar’s Haq Do Tehreek will be implemented as the federal ministers directed the relevant federal and provincial departments and agencies to initiate immediate implementation of the provisions of the agreement.
The federal ministers also lauded the provincial chief minister for the development and prosperity of the people of Gwadar.
Issues related to the implementation of South and North Balochistan development package were also discussed during the meeting.
