It's been five years since we lost music icon Junaid Jamshed in an ill-fated PIA crash. Even though a lot of time has passed since the untimely demise of the former singer, Junaid still lives on in the hearts of his fans and peers. On his fifth death anniversary, many artists took to social media and remembered the Aietbar crooner in the highest regard.
Celebrities such as Aijaz Aslam, Bilal Maqsood, Haroon Shahid among others took to social media and shared anecdotes, heartfelt messages for the Vital Signs vocalist. However, until now, his bandmate Rohail Hyatt never spoke about the passing away of his friend and someone whom he considered his brother.
Recently, taking to Twitter, the former Coke Studio producer penned, "As asked by someone, I’ve been quiet about my brother JJ’s departure from this world." He added, "Because I’ve always felt words will fall short to describe my loss. And they still do."
As asked by someone, I’ve been quiet about my brother JJ’s departure from this world because I’ve always felt words will fall short to describe my loss. And they still do. I miss him and his wonderful smile. May he be smiling in heaven forever IA. May Allah bless his soul. Ameen

Speaking further, he added, "I miss him and his wonderful smile. May he be smiling in heaven forever Insha Allah. May Allah bless his soul."
He then went on to share another throwback picture of the band.

Time and again, Rohail has shared a few unseen pictures of the popular 90s band.
Earlier, he shared a picture from the shoot of Vital Sign's famous track, Aisay Hum Jeeain. The song, directed by celebrated filmmaker Shoaib Mansoor, is still considered one of the best patriotic tracks of the band.
Sharing a photo from the shoot of the video, Rohail wrote, "Vital Signs with Shoaib Mansoor and some lovely Air Force chaps! Aisay Hum Jeeain video shoot ‘93." In the said photo, the band stands tall with the Bol director and some of the Air Force officers.

Earlier, musician Bilal Maqsood too shared a throwback video with Jamshed. In the video from an event hosted by Bilal’s father, Anwar Maqsood, in 1991, Junaid can be seen clad in a fringed leather jacket, introducing Strings to the crowd and inviting Bilal on-stage.
In the video, Junaid calls Strings an “upcoming band,” with the crowd cheering in return. Sharing the video on Twitter, Bilal wrote, "Remembering Junaid Jamshed. This footage is from a Vital Signs concert in Dubai, 1991. Abbu was hosting so I went along. He didn’t have to call me on stage but he was a man with a big heart! Miss you JJ.”
