LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the provincial government equally shares the grief of the heirs of the Sri Lankan citizen murdered in Sialkot and justice will be served in the case at any cost.

The chief minister said in a statement that the police reacted immediately after the tragic incident and not only arrested those involved in this barbaric act but also maintained law and order. He said the inspector general of police had been directed to complete the challan of those who had been arrested. He said that, like other high profile cases, the government would bring this case to its logical conclusion.

“The Sialkot incident is a stigma and disgrace to humanity. Those who are involved in this brutality deserve deterrent punishment and the Punjab government will ensure it by fulfilling all requirements of justice,” he said. The chief minister said those responsible for the tragic incident would be brought to the book as the whole nation was aggrieved and shocked.

The chief minister also lauded the efforts of a citizen, Malik Adnan, who tried to save the life of the Sri Lankan victim without caring for his own life. Usman Buzdar said, “People like Malik Adnan are our hero. We are proud of you.” He said Adnan did his best to save the Lankan citizen by risking own life.
