President Asif Ali Zardari signed on Tuesday the regulation for the establishment of a cadet college in militancy-hit South Waziristan tribal agency.
According to presidential spokesperson Farhatullah Babar, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had announced in an address at the Governor House in Peshawar on August 27, 2008, that six cadet colleges will be established in the tribal regions to promote quality education for the tribal youth.
In pursuance of the announcement, the government established a cadet college in Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan Agency, which has been functioning since last April.
