11 suspects rounded up for various crimes

Two accomplices of the accused have been killed in police encounters

KARACHI:

As many as 11 accused have been arrested for robbing petrol pumps of different city areas, smuggling liquor and robbing citizens leaving banks.

Police arrested Asif and Bilal at Sharah-e-Noor Jahan. The suspects were allegedly involved in robberies at various petrol pumps. The suspects were identified and arrested with the help of CCTV footage. Two accomplices of the accused have been killed in police encounters.

Police officials said the suspects had already been arrested. Apart from robbing petrol pumps; they were also involved in street and other crimes. Further investigation has been started after registering cases against the accused.

Meanwhile, the cops also arrested two Nazir and Ghulam Ahmad during an operation in the Manghopir area. The accused were wanted for smuggling the betel nut (Chaliya) by hiding in a car.

Six hundred and fifty kilograms of betel nuts (Chaliya) were recovered from the car of the accused and they were packed in different sacks.

A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the SIU arrested seven accused in various operations.
