SHC seeks reply from SBCA on construction of portions

Furious over non-submission of reply; Court imposes Rs5,000 fine on deputy director

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed SBCA's Deputy Director Jamshed Town to submit reply regarding construction of portions in Jamshed Quarters.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput and Justice Muhammad Faisal Kamal Alam heard the petition against construction of portions in Jamshed Quarters.

The deputy director once again requested respite for reply. The court expressed displeasure over the SBCA counsel and was furious over non-submission of SBCA's reply.

The court imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on the deputy director concerned and directed the official to file a reply by December 9.

In the petition, it was argued that portions are being constructed in Amil Colony. In 2017, the court directed action but no action was taken.

Appeal against life term granted

Meanwhile, the SHC has granted appeal against the life sentence of three suspects in a murder case.A two-judge bench headed by Justice KK Agha delivered the reserved the judgment on the appeal. The court granted the appeal of the suspects and quashed their sentences. The suspects Asad Ali, Ali Nawaz and Lal Muhammad were accused of killing Yaseen alias Munna.
