Tormentors picked up the victim while she goes going to market

Three men allegedly gang-raped a woman after abducting her after she went to a market to buy grocery.

Police officials said a woman of Kehkashan Colony filed a complaint that her sister aged 25 had left her home for shopping when some men in a car intercepted her.

She stated that Mustafa Tahir, resident of the 203GB area, Dawood, Arsalan and another suspect kidnapped her sister in their car from Shaukatabad.

After snatching her mobile phone and taking her near a canal in Samundri, the suspects allegedly sexually assaulted and tortured the victim. They left her unconscious and fled after her condition deteriorated.

The police registered a case against the suspects nominated by the complainant under Section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). They also raided some places to arrest the suspects. In another incident, a 10-year-old girl thwarted a rape attempt by making noise. Police said they had launched a hunt for the suspect who had fled from the scene.

The complainant told the police that the suspect tried to molest his daughter after she went to a shop to buy cake in the Mansoorabad area.

He alleged that the suspect Omar Farooq, who is a tailor, grabbed his daughter and tried to rape her.

The police registered a case against the suspect under Sections 376 and 511 of the PPC and started a search for him.

Cases of sexual assault are rampant in Punjab.

A woman was allegedly gang-raped in the jurisdiction of Chauchak police station, Okara in the first week of November.

Police arrested two suspects in the incident and sent them to jail while raids continued to arrest the other accused.

The victim was going to the fields when she was sexually assaulted by two men. Moreover, two accomplices of the accused rapists also kept a watch while the incident took place.
