ISLAMABAD:

A nine-member committee formed to prepare a set of recommendations on the teachers’ package handed over a set of 15 recommendations to the Federal Directorate of Education on Tuesday.

The DG office has also forwarded the proposal to the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD).

A member of the committee, on condition of anonymity, said that the recommendations were handed over after they had taken all stakeholders on board.

The recommendations are feasible and implemented easily. “Hopefully the recommendations would be implemented soon,” the official said.

Some key points of the recommendations include rationalisation of duty timings, uniformity in fee structure and provision of equal facilities in all institutions. The committee has recommended uniformity in all educational institutions of the federal government.

All the institutions would have similar logos and signboards. Previously, there were separate logos and signboards for model colleges/schools and federal government schools.

The timing in all educational institutions would be same, with 40-minute periods and a 30-minute recess after every four consecutive periods.

Fees would be the same across all 480 educational institutions, the official added.

All the administrative positions in the educational institutions would be abolished except for the posts of principal and vice principal.
