Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the Azad Kashmir (AK) Regimental Centre Mansar Camp, the military's media wing said.
"The COAS laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
The statement added that Gen Qamar formally installed Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, Commander Quetta Corps as Colonel Commandant of AK Regiment.

Addressing the participants, the ISPR said: Gen Qamar praised Azad Kashmir Regiment for its glorious history, professional excellence, outstanding operational performance and war worthiness.

On September 4, the army chief met AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi and assured him of the army's full support and commitment to the Kashmir cause and its people.
During the meeting, the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) including continued Indian unilateralism and situation along the Line of Control was discussed.
The AJK premier appreciated the Pakistan Army's contribution towards the security and development of AJK.
The COAS, during the meeting, also paid tribute to Syed Ali Geelani for his historical and selfless struggle for Kashmiris' right to self-determination.
