Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the proposed slaughter house in Sector I-11/4, Islamabad.
The meeting was informed that the total area of the slaughter house is 8,000 square-foot and the indoor coral area would process initially more than 15000 animals per week.
The CDA has appointed consultant NESPAK for the feasibility study, design estimation with the cost of Rs7.00 million. The modern slaughter house will have the capacity of 2000 small animals (goats) and 800 large animals (cows) per day.
The meeting was told that the slaughter house includes major components such as freezing room, cold storage, deboning area, packing room, dispatch area, animal waiting area, animal checking and inspection area, chilling rooms, administrative rooms, car parking, tube well and waste treatment area.
Asad Umar said to provide fresh, quality, and hygienic meat to the residents of Islamabad, the slaughter house should be equipped with latest machinery and equipment.
