Man shot dead, son injured outside court

A man, who came a for hearing before a court in a murder case, was shot dead while his son suffered bullet injuries in a firing incident outside the Judicial Complex on Monday.

Reportedly, Abdul Salam, a resident of Sadhoki, was to appear before a court along with his son Sohail. A murder case against his son was registered in Kahna in 2019. Sohail was nominated as the prime suspect in the murder of a man identified as Bashir Ahmad in Sadhoki.

They had secured a bail in the case. On the day of the incident, the man and his son had reached outside Judicial Complex to appear before the judge for proceedings in the case. Suddenly, the opponents waiting for the victims on seeing them resorted to firing.

They received bullet injuries. The victim Abdul Salam died on the spot. His son was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident created panic in the locality as the people appearing for the court proceedings and large number of lawyers ran for their life.

Heavy contingent of police and senior police officers reached the spot after the incident.
