Police told to submit DNA report in rape case

Accused, arrested on the complaint of victim, sent to jail on judicial remand

A local court has ordered police to submit a DNA report at the next hearing in a case of alleged abuse of an American born Pakistani doctor in the Frere area.

The case was heard before the South Judicial Magistrate in the Karachi City Court. Upon completion of remand, suspect Yasir was produced in the court. The court sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand.

The court directed the police to submit DNA report at the next hearing. According to police, the alleged rape took place at the house of accused Yasir, who was arrested on the complaint lodged by the victim who is undergoing medical treatment at Jinnah Hospital and the situation will be clearer after the medical report.
