Kate Middleton repeats emerald gown from Pakistan trip for royal duties
The royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton were spotted at the annual Royal Variety Performance in London on Thursday evening. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently celebrated the 11th anniversary of their engagement and now were seen hitting the town for a night at the theatre.
The familiarity of the gown dates back to 2019 when Kate donned the same sparkly gown during the couple’s tour of Pakistan. They visited Pakistan primarily to promote relations between the two countries and promote Pakistan’s tourism sector as requested by the British government, However, Prince William and Kate were keen to also reflect their own interests and work on climate change and the importance of quality education in the country.
Queen Elizabeth II is the patron of the Royal Variety Charity and the money raised from the performances helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the UK. This event particularly supports entertainers who need assistance as a result of age, ill-health or struggling times.
Prince William and Kate’s date night out also signals that London’s nightlife is flourishing and back to business following the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. This year, the event featured performances by Ed Sheeran, Rod Stewart, James Blunt and the cast of Moulin Rouge, Matilda, the Musical and Cirque du Soleil. The pair met several performers as well as Royal Variety Charity and ITV executives.
The couple was last seen sparkling at the same venue on the red carpet for the premiere of the Bond movie No Time To Die, in September this year.
