Hassan Ali's wife calls out fake Twitter account that claimed Pakistanis were threatening them

Imposter pretending to be Samyah on Twitter alleged her and cricketer's life was in danger post ICC T20 semi-final.

Hassan Ali's wife has categorically called out and distanced herself from claims made by an impostor Twitter account impersonating her.

She has clarified that neither she nor her husband or daughter have received any deadly threats from the people of Pakistan. Taking to her only Instagram account’s Stories, Samyah Khan shared screenshots of the fake Twitter handle @SamiyaArzoo to urge her followers to report it.

Via a series of tweets on this handle, the imposter had asked the Prime Minister Imran Khan and PCB to take action against alleged ‘threats’ being issued to the fast bowler, his wife and daughter. Samyah clarified that these tweets were not made by her and propagated a false narrative.

"So many tweets circulating from this fake account that I, Hassan and my daughter are getting threats from the people of Pakistan, which is absolutely wrong," she wrote. "Instead, we have seen tons of support. Please don't believe any such statements and don't follow any such accounts on Twitter pretending to be me.”

She went on to notify everyone that she was, in fact, “not on Twitter” and asked them to “report the accounts claiming to be me.” The imposter, in their tweets, had also tagged Indian political figures, authorities, to send support for Hassan and his family.

The account has now been disabled on Twitter.

Yesterday, following the heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Aussies during the T20 World Cup semi-finals, the Pakistani fast bowler, who dropped a crucial catch that allowed wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade to secure a thrilling win, assured that no one was more disappointed than him.

Having conceded 44 runs in four wicket-less overs, Hasan had more disappointment to face in the dramatic closing stages of the see-saw match at the Dubai International Stadium. "I know you all are upset because my performance didn't meet your expectations but no one is more disappointed than me," the fast bowler wrote on his official Twitter handle.

He urged the fans to keep their expectations from him up as he wanted to serve the Pakistan cricket at the highest level, saying that he would work harder to bounce back. "This patch will make me stronger so Alhumdulilah," he added.
