Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid has approved Rs7.5 billion for the Rawalpindi Medical University to meet its various expenditures
Chairing the 11th syndicate meeting of the Rawalpindi Medical University, the Punjab health minister said that there was plenty of medicine for dengue patients in public sector hospitals across the province. She said that all resources were being utilised to control the dengue virus.
The provincial health minister also approved the budget for the renovation of the Rawalpindi Medical University student hostel, payment of bills of the Holy Family Hospital. The meeting also approved MPhil and PhD programmes in the Rawalpindi Medical University.

At the meeting, Dr Yasmeen Rashid also reviewed the dengue situation across Punjab including in the Rawalpindi district. She said that work would also be carried out to shift the Rawalpindi Medical University to solar and rain harvesting systems.
At the meeting, a comprehensive strategy was formulated for the disposal of waste from public sector hospitals in Rawalpindi.
Rawalpindi Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Muhammad Omar told the meeting that special attention was being paid to the research programme in the university.
