Karachi Commissioner, Muhammad Iqbal Memon, during his visit to district central, has urged the administration to monitor civic issues on regular basis and adopt measures to resolve them in coordination with the departments concerned.
He said this in a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Talha Saleem, Additional Deputy Commissioner I Wasimuddin and all assistant commissioners. Health department officials, who are coordinating in anti-polio and other immunization campaigns, and officers from SBCA were also present in the meeting.
District central deputy commissioner gave a detailed briefing to the commissioner highlighting the issues the district is facing. He also informed the meeting about the progress of anti-encroachment drive, price control campaign, elimination of polio and dengue viruses and efforts being made in improving the district.

It was decided in the meeting that besides taking measures to remove encroachments, efforts should also be made to ensure that encroachers do not resurface. The commissioner asked the deputy commissioner to send encroachment cases to the anti-encroachment tribunal.
It was also decided that barcode would include in the receipt of payment of challan, issued to the violators of prices, fixed by the administration.
