The Pink Ribbon Day was observed at the Township Campus of the University of Education with the collaboration of the Cancer Care Hospital and the Lions Club.
On this occasion while addressing an awareness seminar Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (SI), the vice chancellor of the University of Education, said there was cure for every disease. “If we want to avoid cancer we have to change our lifestyle accordingly. Women should be well aware about this disease. The whole society should work jointly to eradicate this killing disease from our country,” he said.
While addressing the seminar Dr. Ambreen Zahoor, the consultant radiologist at the Cancer Care Hospital, briefed the students about different symptoms of cancer.
She said we should try to increase our immunity by adding more fruit and vegetables in our diet. Dr. Ambreen said women should not be hesitant while talking about breast cancer and take good care of their health.

It may be said here that efforts to sensitize the people on the necessity to prevent the disease have increased in the country. Recently a bicycle rally was organised at the Governor’s House in connection with the breast cancer awareness campaign.
The rally was led by Begum Perveen Sarwar, wife of the Punjab governor.
First Lady Samina Alvi and Perveen Sarwar appreciated the participants for their role in creating awareness about breast cancer. Women from different walks of life were present on the occasion.
