ISLAMABAD:

A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Saturday warned the prime suspect in the Noor murder case, Zahir Jaffer, about his attitude, saying the court will not allow him to appear before the bench if he tried to disrupt the proceedings again.

In a written order, Judge Atta Rabbani, who is hearing the Noor Mukadam murder case, said that the accused created a "fuss in the court and tried to interfere in the proceedings" during the previous hearing on November 3.

"He is directed to mend his attitude; otherwise, his attendance will be exempted from the court and he will be taken on video link from jail," the judge wrote in his short order.

The judge also summoned the remaining prosecution witnesses at the next hearing. He said the "file be produced" on Nov 10 as well. "The next date of the hearing is fixed as per the availability of the defence counsel," the judge added.

Zahir kicked out of courtroom

During the previous hearing, the suspect, who confessed to murdering and beheading Noor Mukadam, was removed from the courtroom for disrupting the case proceedings and ridiculing the judge.

During the hearing, Zahir had kept on saying the name 'Hamza' without pointing at anyone. He had interrupted the court twice and hurled abuses at the judge. Consequently, the judge had kicked him out for creating a drama.

As police tried to take him away, Zahir Jaffer had grabbed Inspector Mustafa Kiyani by the collar. However, the police had managed to take him out of the courtroom and put him in the court lockup.
