The route between Islamabad and Lahore via GT Road could not be fully restored after it was closed down ahead of the expected march of a banned outfit. Gujrat and Chenab toll plazas remained shut on the 15 consecutive day while the motorists faced extreme difficulties.
The TLP protesters were still encamped near Wazirabad. National Highway and Motorway Police officials said the motorists are being provided alternate routes until the complete removal of obstructions.
