Health officials said that an anti-measles drive will be run in the Haripur district from November 15 to November 27.
Haripur Deputy Commissioner (DC) held a meeting regarding the measles campaign. Representatives of the police, district administration, the health department, private schools, Rescue 1122, trader associations and NGOs attended the meeting.
The meeting was told that children aged between nine and 15 years will be vaccinated during the campaign. The Haripur DC urged the people to cooperate with the vaccinators during the drive.
He also directed to ensure announcements from mosques and displaying banners and billboards at tehsil and village council levels. The official asked public and private schools’ representatives to timely inform the institutions regarding the campaign so that they could achieve the target.
Meanwhile, Haripur District Police Officer Kashif Zulfiqar held an open kachehry at the Khanpur Police Station.
Locals informed the DPO about the problems. The DPO said that the protection of the life and property of the citizens was the responsibility of the police.
He said the Haripur police’s priority was to maintain law and order. The DPO said they required the help of the locals to end the menace of drugs and other crimes.
He urged the people to keep an eye on anti-social elements and inform the police against any illegal activity. The DPO said the elders of the areas must resolve small disputes among themselves.
He said the people could visit police stations or the offices of high police officials in case of any problem.
