Wahab said, "This is my city, I studied here, I am now the spokesperson of Sindh government along with KMC."

He said that KMC is working for the welfare of the employees as well as the city, to solve the problems of payment of salaries and pensions.

"If I can't represent the city as the Father of the City, then I have no right to be in this position. We need to get out of the atmosphere of fear and speak up for the rights of our city," he said. He also paid tribute to Bashir Saduzai for his hard work and dedication in writing a book on Karachi.

Addressing the event, ACP president said, "It is hoped that Murtaza Wahab will do a lot for Karachi." Earlier, Bashir Saduzai said that the book presents the date up to 1979 and the second part of the book based on the date up to 2020 is under publication. He said that through this book, the fragmented local government history of Karachi has been brought together.
