Action recommended against cops present at US consulate Iftar
Eight police officials including two DIGs and six SSPs attended an Iftar dinner at the US consulate without acquiring permission from a relevant authority.
Earlier, IG Punjab had sought an explanation from the officials found guilty of the offence. The officials submitted their explanations to him who declared them unsatisfactory and sent a letter to the chief minister for departmental inquiry.
The letter states that the officers have violated service rules, relevant laws and the Constitution of Pakistan.

Probably only reason they are being harassed is because their superiors did not get to attend it.

@Cautious: taking iftar at somebody place is not an offence.but just keep in mind that the iftar was at the embassy of some other country and further more ,they are high ranking officials from a govt department.they are not politicians or general public.there are certain decorams of service and norms,which these officers were to abide.they violated the discipline and service rules,they need to be punished and the punishment needs to be declared,so that it can become an example for rest of the people
If there are any doubts about their integrity they should all be kicked out. Only punishment they will understand.
Officers have to Investigate that some of them leaks some high level Information or Confidential Official Documents. Also watch their Activities as these are RAW Spys. They broke the Rules and LAWS. Go to Aftar but always on Muslim's Aftari. Because they Know the meanings of Aftari. How can Americans know about Aftari ? There is something wrong Hundred Percent. Its a Sensitive Case and move it to the Agencies, if they have time to work on it.If they have time then OK, otherwise Suspend them and take them in Police Custody, when Agencies will Available then Proceed it on. Its my Opinion that CM can't take the Right and Acurate Decision on this Case ...
@Cautious: yes it was unoffical, they have to inform someone and got permission to go their because they are Police Officers not the MPA's MNA's.

Petty harassment - since when is accepting dinner at someones house a crime? Does anyone think that the police don't know that the consulate is being watched 24/7?
Well done. These officers should be punished accordingly.their bank balance should be checked,and they should be handed over to intelligence agencies for their way of interrogation.
