Action recommended against cops present at US consulate Iftar
Explanations submitted by officials were declared unsatisfactory by Javed Iqbal.

Expressing his dissatisfaction over the reply of the officers, the Punjab Inspector General (IG) of Police Javed Iqbal asked the Punjab government on Tuesday to recommend departmental action against the cops who attended an Iftar party at the US Consulate without getting permission.
Eight police officials including two DIGs and six SSPs attended an Iftar dinner at the US consulate without acquiring permission from a relevant authority.
Earlier, IG Punjab had sought an explanation from the officials found guilty of the offence. The officials submitted their explanations to him who declared them unsatisfactory and sent a letter to the chief minister for departmental inquiry.
The letter states that the officers have violated service rules, relevant laws and the Constitution of Pakistan.
