The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested a kidnapping and murder suspect.
CTD took Usman Shah into custody. He has been accused, along with former Sachal Police Station SHO Haroon Korai, of kidnapping a citizen from his house and killing him in Steel Town.
The rogue cops had picked up a citizen and executed him because he had informed the customs department about the smuggled betel nut used in manufacture of banned tabbaco chews like gutka and mawa. The stash of betel nut belonged to Usman Shah.
The accused has also been a part of CTD Quetta in the past. According to CTD in-charge Raja Umar Khattab, the department’s Karachi wing, while conducting an operation in Quetta, arrested accused Usman Shah alias Major Usman and transferred him to the city.

The accused, along with his other accomplices, namely former SHO Haroon Korai, Imran Mehsud and Fauzia, abducted a man named Fazal from his house and killed him in Steel Town.
Raja Umar Khattab further said that Usman Shah belonged to the betel nut mafia. The accused used to introduce himself as a federal intelligence major while he was the ASI team in-charge of CTD Balochistan.
He was sacked in 2019 due to complaints. The accused revealed that Fazal was killed because customs had seized betel nut worth millions on his tip-off.
