CTD nabs two militants in Kohat

KOHAT:

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Kohat apprehended two militants and seized a huge cache of weapons from their custody on Tuesday.

Sources familiar with the matter told The Express Tribune that a checkpoint was set up for snap checking at the road connecting Kohat and Hangu.

The militants captured have been identified as Aziz Ullah and Muhammad Sohaib. Both the accused persons were wanted by the police for militant activities across the province, specifically in Kohat division.

The charges levelled against them include attempted murders, attacks on security installations, security personnel and police forces.

According to CTD, both the militants were also behind a kidnapping for ransom of cellular tower workers and engineers out of whom one person was killed when ransom was not paid.

The CTD also recovered Rs6.7 million as well as weapons. They have shifted the accused persons to an unidentified location for further investigation.

A first information report has also been registered to initiate legal proceedings against the alleged militants.
