A three-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed, will hear important cases at the Karachi Registry next week.
The bench will include Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed. The Karachi mega encroachment case is fixed for hearing before the bench. It will also hear cases related to 35,000 welfare plots in Karachi.
Another case for hearing is over encroachments at Gujjar nullah, illegal marriage halls, encroachment at parks, occupation of Jacobabad welfare plots and government lands.
Besides, the bench will also hold hearings regarding 35,000 welfare plots in Karachi and Aladdin Park.
The three-member bench is also scheduled to hear cases regrading encroachment at Kidney Hill Park, Kashmir Road, KDA Club and Karachi Circular Railway restoration case.
In addition, the SC will also take up the railway land occupation case.

The bench will also take up a case on water shortage in DHA, Sindhi Muslim Society encroachments, construction of multi-storey buildings in Karachi, Hayat Residency, Karachi Gymnasium and commercial activities on residential plots.
The three-member bench will also hear cases pertaining to China cutting. The CJ-headed bench will review the CR progress report of the larger bench of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court has ordered to provide alternative accommodation to the victims of Gujjar nullah encroachments, submit a preliminary plan to the Sindh chief minister and rehabilitate Aladdin Park affectees.
The Supreme Court has sought a progress report from the Karachi commissioner in this regard.
