Two children were crushed to death while 16 others, including four teachers, sustained injuries when the dilapidated wall of a private school collapsed on the stage of a Milad gathering in Punjab's Jhelum on Friday, Express News reported.
The rescue operation was launched immediately, according to officials. However, two children breathed their last on the spot whereas the injured were rushed to District Headquarter Hospital Jhelum, where an emergency was imposed.
The rescue team later completed the operation by clearing the rubble.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, while taking notice of the tragic incident, sought a report from the authorities concerned.
CO Education Chaudhry Maroof said that a preliminary investigation has revealed that the Milad stage was erected next to a dilapidated wall, which he added caused the incident to happen.
Maroof said that an inquiry into the incident has begun from today and assured that those found responsible will be punished.
