At least 17 people were killed whereas 1,168 were injured in 1,123 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the past 24 hours.
Out of the total injured, 685 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals whereas, 483 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site. The majority of victims, around 70 per cent, involved motorcycles.
Furthermore, the analysis showed that 426 drivers, 58 underage drivers, 209 pedestrians, and 550 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.

The statistics showed that 308 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 306 persons, placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 81 RTCs in Faisalabad with 88 victims and at third Gujranwala with 72 RTCs and 72 victims.
The details further revealed that 1,185 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 964 male & 221 female victims. The age group of the victims showed that 206 were under 18 years of age, 628 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 351 victims were reported to be above 40 years of age.
According to the data, 917 motorcycles and 160 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in aforesaid accidents.
