ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has asked the public to take part in the `Eid Milad-un-Nabi Lighting Competition’ being arranged as a part of ongoing celebrations of Ashra of Rehmatul lil Alameen (PBUH).

A committee formed by the management will be judging the lighting competition, and will pick the winner – who will receive an Umrah ticket from the government – because of their efforts in decorating their home, office, building or mosque in the best possible way.

Moreover, people in twin cities are gearing up to celebrate the fast-approaching religious festival with customary zeal and fervour, resulting in increased sales of businesses dealing with traditional food and multicolour lights.

According to a recent report aired on a public television, last year’s trend of placing food orders via online channels is being followed this year as well. Catering businesses are busy with preparations of arranging and delivering large quantities of meals that are traditionally shared among family, friends, neighbours and the underprivileged.
