The Sikh community hosted an event in front of Gurdawara Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib on Saturday to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) for the first time.
Muslims as well as Sikhs attended the ceremony organised by the head of Punjabi Sikh community, Gopal Singh Chawla, and Minhajul Quran.
Sardar Chawla said the purpose of organising the milad event was to promote interfaith harmony between the Sikh and Muslim communities. Dr Hussain Mohiuddin, son of Dr Tahirul Qadri also addressed the event.

“Gurdwara Sahib is not only for Sikhs but also for believers of all religions,” Chawla said.
In recent years, the celebrations of Eid Miladun Nabi in Rabiul Awwal were also hosted in churches in Pakistan by the Christian community.
A feast was arranged for the Muslim participants on the behalf of the Sikh community and a cake was cut by representatives of both the communities at the end of the event.
