PM says health, Kissan cards among foremost priorities
Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Tuesday the government’s health card scheme to provide free health facilities to the masses was a unique step not only in Pakistan but the whole world.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress regarding Sehat, Ehsaas and Kissan cards, Imran said that health and Ehsaas cards would provide a big relief to the backward segments of society. He added that in that respect special cells had been established in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
“After the completion of process in Lahore, the distribution of health cards across Punjab will be ensured,” the prime minister told the meeting.
“Sehat, Ehsaas and Kissan cards are among the government’s foremost priorities.”

Besides special assistants to the prime minister, Dr Sania Nishtar, Dr Faisal Sultan, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and other relevant officers, the meeting was attended by the chief ministers and chief secretaries of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa via video link.
The meeting was briefed about the distribution of health cards and the provision of health facilities in Khyber-Pakhtunkwa as well as in Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions of Punjab. The meeting was informed that the second phase of health cards distribution in Punjab would soon start from Lahore.
Regarding the Kissan card, the meeting was informed that the distribution process had started in South Punjab. Furthermore, the meeting was also informed that a strategy to include more products for the provision of subsidy through the Kissan card was also in final stages.
