Human rights information management system launched

UNDP team highlighted the technical aspects of the system to improve the human rights reporting

KARACHI:

The Special Assistant to the chief minister for Human Rights, Surendar Valasai on Tuesday inaugurated Sindh Human Rights Information Management System (HRIMS), developed under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Speaking on the occasion, Surendar appreciated UNDP for the help in establishing the Sindh Human Rights Information Management System, which will facilitate Sindh government in digitising data to cater to the needs in meeting the international human rights obligations of the country.

Surendar Valasai further said that soon a meeting of the task force of line departments will be called to interlink them for a synchronised data collection.

UNDP team highlighted the technical aspects of the system to improve the human rights reporting and communication with the federal government.

UNDP's Senior Human Rights and Social Protection Advisor, Salman Asif, Secretary Human Rights Department Jawed Sibghatullah Mahar, Project Officer Munira Hirwani, Munir Ahmed and others were present at the ceremony.
