Committee formed to resolve traffic issues

The body has been directed to come up with a plan in 15 days

PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan Wednesday constituted a committee to resolve traffic-related problems in Peshawar.

The committee was constituted during a meeting held here with CM in the chair. Besides, Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra and Special Assistant to K-P CM on Information, Kamran Bangash, and other concerned authorities also attended the meeting. Finance Minister will head the committee.

The meeting reviewed in detail matters related to solving the traffic problems in the city on a permanent basis. The Special Assistant to CM on Information Kamran Bangash and other stakeholders will be members of the committee.

The committee has been tasked to formulate a short-term and long-term plan within 15 days to resolve the traffic-related problems of the city on a permanent basis.

The meeting also decided to issue notices to all those plazas that lack parking facilities to make parking arrangements within one month, otherwise, action would be taken against them.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM directed the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to launch an awareness campaign regarding traffic laws. Similarly, he also directed initiating large-scale awareness regarding the use of helmets and seat belts and then taken stern action against the violators.
