Dengue cases exceed 1,342 in Islamabad
The total number of Dengue cases to have surfaced in Islamabad exceeded 1,342 on Tuesday, after 113 more people contracted the fever and five more succumbed to it in a day.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Zaeem Zia said that, “Around 219 dengue patients are currently under treatment at various hospitals in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad while 629 people have recovered and been discharged so far.”
He added that about 599 dengue patients had also been brought in the outpatient departments OPDs of the hospitals.

According to the DHO, 396 cases were brought to the Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi during the current season, 88 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi, 21 in DHQ Hospital, Rawalpindi, 56 in PIMS and 65 in Polyclinic.
About 174 dengue cases were brought to the Federal General Hospital and 22 to CDA Hospital, the DHO said, adding that Dengue has been confirmed in more than 450 patients in Islamabad in private hospitals and laboratories of the twin cities.
Out of the total cases in Islamabad, 896 cases are in rural areas while 447 cases are in urban areas.
A day earlier, it was reported that the federal capital witnessed the single highest number of dengue cases as another 121 patients were admitted to hospitals during the last 24 hours.
