Senior PML-N leader passes away in Lahore
Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Member National Assembly Mohammad Pervaiz Malik passed away in Lahore on Monday. He was 73.
Malik — who was also the PML-N Lahore president — had been ill for a long time and died due to cardiac arrest. He had been looking after party affairs on the leadership's direction even despite deteriorating health conditions.
PML-N Lahore Secretary Khawaja Imran Nazir said that Malik's funeral prayers will be offered today (Tuesday) at 9:00 am at a ground near Gaddafi Stadium.
The party leadership also expressed their grief over the death of the MNA. In a statement, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief and sorrow over Malik's death and said the party had lost a sincere leader and a good man.

"He was a sincere brother, friend and ally and his demise is a great loss," Shehbaz said.
He added that Malik's services for the country, the nation and democracy would be remembered forever. "He was a valuable asset of the party and it will not be possible to fill the gap he has left behind," Shehbaz said.
PML-N Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb remembered Malik as a kind, humble and compassionate man who served the people. She said that his death has had the same effect as that of losing one's father or elder.
