One shot in leg in drunken friends’ fight

Two injured in separate incidents of mugging

Three people were injured in firing incidents in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

A man was injured in firing on the second floor of a building in DHA Phase-VI, within the limits of Darakhshan police station. He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital. The injured was identified as Arsalan son of Salman. Darakhshan PS SHO Ali Raza Leghari said that the incident of firing occurred following an argument among drunken friends.

The injured youth was shot in the leg, but police were still gathering more information.

Separately, a man was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at him during a robbery at a dairy shop in Rajput Society area of Ayub Goth within Sohrab Goth police limits. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the injured was identified as Rao Aftab Ahmed, 55, son of Rao Muhammad Idrees.

Sohrab Goth SHO Zubair Nawaz said that the armed suspects, in their attempt to rob a dairy shop, opened fire on shopkeeper on his resistance, injuring him seriously. The suspects abandoned their motorcycle and fled away.

The SHO said that the motorcycle used by the armed suspects was stolen from the limits of Model Colony police station. Police have collected evidence and launched an investigation into the incident.

Similarly, a man was injured in a firing incident in New Karachi area. The injured was rushed to the ASH, where he was identified as Asif Ali.
