LAHORE:

A station house officer (SHO) appearing in the court after eight notices and arrests warrants on Monday again failed to submit a challan in a gang rape case.

DSP Mustansar Atta Bajwa had produce Defence-B SHO Zahid Hussain before Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Nazeer Ahmed following issuance of arrest warrants against the officer by the court at the previous hearing. The DSP also rendered an unconditional apology for the delay in submission of the challan and assured the court that the entire case record will be produced in two days. The judge said the SHO did not appear to be fit for the job. In the end, however, he granted the police two days. The case was registered in Defence-B police station against Javed Masih, Khaliq Masih, Adnan Masih and an unidentified man for raping a maid. The petitioner, the victim’s mother, said that the men had entered the house she and her daughter worked at and raped the child.
