Two held for murdering doctor during robbery
Police have arrested two brothers on suspicion of murdering a lady doctor over resistance during robbery in DHA.
DIG Investigations Shariq Jamal said Dr Khola was returning home in her car after visiting a friend when the suspected robbers intercepted her and tried to rob her at gunpoint.
Apparently over resistance by the victim, the suspects resorted to firing, injuring the young doctor in her neck.
The suspects fled on motorbikes after the incident. They reportedly took the victim’s mobile phone with them.
She was shifted to National Hospital but could not survive.

Images of the woman in surgery gown tainted with blood while lying on a stretcher while doctors treated her sparked a public outcry after going viral on social media.
A police team reached the spot on and collected forensic evidence. They also recorded statements of witnesses.
A case of murder during robbery was registered on the complaint of father of the victim.
The DIG met the family of the deceased at the hospital assured them of arresting the murderers at the earliest.
The suspects were spotted on footage from a CCTV camera installed at DHA Library. An investigations team, after extracting the pictures from video, took help of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the suspects were arrested after their identification.
DIG Jamal told The Express Tribune that the suspects Muhammad Ayyaz and Muhammad Bilal were brothers and residents of Misri Shah. They also had earlier criminal record.
At least 13 cases were registered against Ayyaz. The first one was a case of theft in 2011 in Gulberg. Official record showed that he was arrested in the case in January 2012 but released on bail in July 2013. He was also allegedly involved in a robbery in Kahna Kacha in 2011, and a case of a robbery and illegal arms in Ghalib Market.

After his release on bail, the suspect allegedly committed two robberies in Shabagh in 2013 and 2014. He was also booked for theft in Mustafa Town in 2014, two robberies in thRace Course area, a robbery in Johar Town, another in Factory Area in 2014, a robbery in the same year in South Cantonment and one in Nawab Town in 2014.
Bilal was involved in two cases of theft in Gulberg in 2011, a theft, a fraud and a robbery case in Ghalib Market in 2012, a theft case in Shadman, a robbery case in Defence-A in 2017 and an illegal weapons case in North Cantonment.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Raiwind on Wednesday.
The victim had been living in a private housing society. She was found hanging in her bedroom.
Her husband Rashid reportedly had contracted second marriage in Sahiwal two months back. Police took the body to morgue for autopsy and collected forensic evidence from the spot.
