Woman ‘gang-raped’ during robbery

Two robbers looted thousands of rupees and valuable from the house and fled.

A woman was allegedly gang-raped during a robbery in the area of Cantt police station in Okara. Two robbers looted thousands of rupees and valuable from the house and fled.

The victim was shifted to hospital for medical examination and teams were formed under the supervision of DSP Sadar Javed Jatoi to arrest the suspects.

According to sources, the house of Ashfaq, a resident of Okara Cantt, who was living abroad, was robbed. His wife was at home with her children when two armed robbers entered the house at around 1:30am.

The robbers started looting the house at gunpoint. The two robbers also allegedly took Gulnaz to a room, where they sexually assaulted her.

The woman reached the police station after the incident. Upon receiving the information, DPO Faisal Shehzad along with DSP Javed Jatoi rushed to the spot.

Police shifted the victim to hospital for medical examination.

Last month, a newly wed woman was allegedly gang-raped and the bridegroom tortured during a robbery in Multan.

The police said four armed robbers held the family hostage for two hours before escaping with five tola of gold and over Rs100,000.
