One soldier martyred, two injured in Machh attack
At least one soldier of Frontier Corps (FC) was martyred and two others sustained injuries on Sunday when terrorists targeted a security forces’ check post in Machh town of Balochistan’s Bolan district, military’s media wing said.
“Terrorists targeted security forces’ post in Mach, Balochistan. Frontier Corps troops responded promptly,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
During the exchange of fire, Sepoy Irfan embraced shahadat (martyrdom) while two other soldiers were injured, it added.
“Pakistan Army remains committed to defeat such cowardly acts by externally sponsored terrorist elements,” read the communiqué.
The statement added that terrorists will not be allowed to sabotage the hard-earned peace in the country.
Earlier in the day, the security forces killed a terrorist during an operation in North Waziristan, said the ISPR in a statement.

According to the Pakistan Army's media wing, the operation was conducted on a tip-off regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.
The terrorist was gunned down during an exchange of fire, the ISPR said. It added that the security forces also recovered explosives and ammunition during the operation.
On the other hand, at least six terrorists were killed during an operation conducted by security forces in Balochistan’s Kharan district last week on Friday.
According to ISPR, soldiers of Frontier Corps Balochistan had carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) after a tip-off was received about the presence of a terrorist hideout.
During the ensuing intense shootout after FC cordoned off the hideout, two terrorist commanders namely Gul Mir alias Pullen and Kaleem Ullah Bolani also got killed.
A large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorists. In a separate IBO, the Counter Terrorism Department’s Balochistan chapter nabbed three Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists from Turbat city.
