At least three people including two Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers were injured in an explosion on Quetta’s Sariyab Road on Monday.
According to police, unidentified terrorists had planned to attack law enforcement agencies and they had planted an improvised explosion device (IED) near Tariq hospital for this purpose.
The IED was detonated when FC soldiers patrolling the area on a motorcycle were passing by. As a result of the explosion, three people including two FC men identified as Sepoy Mohiuddin and Sepoy Akhtar sustained injuries.
The injured soldiers were rushed to FC hospital Quetta, where they were stated to be out of danger.
After the incident, officials of various law enforcement agencies rushed the site and cordoned off the area. A search for the attackers is currently underway.

Balochisan Home and Tribal Affairs Ministers Mir Ziaullah Langau condemned the cowardly act and sough report from the concerned authorities.
“Few anti-state elements were trying to sabotage peace and creating havoc among the masses,” he said, adding that all the conspiracies will be thwarted with public support.
He directed to step up checking at entry and exit points of the town and wished the injured soldiers a speedy recovery.
