CTD Punjab arrests eight 'terrorists'
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday announced the arrest of eight individuals suspected of involvement in terror activities from different cities of Punjab, including Lahore.
The suspects were arrested by the counter-terrorism force during operations across the province, a spokesperson for the CTD said. He added that in addition to weapons, the CTD also recovered bomb-making equipment and explosives.
According to the spokesperson, four suspects, said to be members of a proscribed sectarian outfit, were arrested from Lahore during an operation.

Another suspected member of a proscribed organisation was arrested in Hafizabad. He was raising funds for the banned outfit, claimed the CTD.
The CTD also claimed to have arrested an alleged member of a transnational terrorist group in Gujranwala.
Two more suspected members of banned organisations were rounded from Sheikhupura, the CTD said, adding that the detained individuals were planning to provoke sectarian clashes in the city through wall-chalking.
