4 of robbers’ gang arrested

MPA handed back stolen valuables, praises police for alertness.

LAHORE:

Model Town police arrested members of an intra district gang also involved in a robbery at the residence of MPA Samina Aziz. A Toyota Corolla, two bikes, an LCD television, a camera, a music system and other valuables worth Rs2.5 million were recovered from them on Monday.

Operations DIG Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said the four were arrested after a tip from an informer from Nishtar Colony. He said the gang had also been involved in crimes in Karachi. He said nine cases were traced to these men. He identified the gang members as Sunain Masih, Akmal Masih, Haroon Masih and Shafiq Tahir. He said that these members were major players in street crime in the Nishtar Colony precincts.

The DIG said that the four had broken into the house of PML-N MPA Aziz and held up her family for three hours and looted her house. MPA Aziz said that she was thankful to the police for ensuring quick recovery of the looted items. She said that these efforts of the police show that they are working to ensure the safety of citizens.
