Actor Minal Khan and her husband Ahsan Mohsin Ikram capped off their wedding festivities with a grand valima ceremony. The couple made headlines with their extravagant functions ever since the two got engaged in May, and their reception was an equally grand affair.
Attended by several industry professionals, the glittering ceremony took place on Sunday night. Minal looked ethereal in a heavily embellished cream-coloured dress. The outfit, with silver beading, was an off-shoulder, full-sleeved number with a belted waist and luxuriously flowy skirt. The actor paired the dress with a matching dupatta, pinning it onto her head in typical bridal fashion, allowing it to trail behind her.
For hair, Minal chose a half-up, half-down style, which complimented the outfit perfectly and was a refreshing change from the tied back hair of her wedding ceremony. The lips were kept understated with a nude shade, paired with black smokey eyes. Minal chose to keep the jewellery to a minimum, ditching the usual bridal tika or matha patti. The earrings and necklace were delicate pieces, which made sense given the heavy embellishment on the dress. Ahsan complimented the bride perfectly, opting for a classic black suit and white shirt combo. The groom opted for a maroon tie, which contrasted well with Minal’s angelic colour palette. The couple posed for some adorable portraits, looking like a match made in heaven! The decor consisted of mainly white and pink flowers, paired with golden furniture.
The bride’s twin sister, Aiman Khan, opted for a light pink number, which went well with the theme of the event. Aiman’s dress also contained heavy silver embellishment, with the actor pairing the outfit with a romantic hair bun, complete with braided details. For jewellery, Aiman went for a pair of heavy silver drop earrings, keeping her neck bare.
The actor’s daughter, Amal Muneeb, wore an adorable matching frock, complete with princess-y frills and white shoes. Aiman’s husband, Muneeb Butt, opted for a grey suit and white shirt, ditching the tie.
The bride posed for portraits with her mother, who looked graceful in an all-black outfit with black embellishments. The event was also attended by actors Amna Ilyas and Kinza Hashmi, among other industry insiders.
Kinza looked ravishing in a metallic silver sari, paired with a black sleeveless blouse. The actor kept her hair pin-straight and accessorised with a black metal choker and matching bangles.
Amna also chose to don a sari. The actor went for a black sari with a gold border, paired with a heavily embellished white sleeveless blouse. Amna elevated the look with a red pout and drop earrings.
The baraat, which took place on Friday, saw Minal in an exquisite red lehenga choli as she twirled for pictures, looking stunning. She paired her ensemble with heavy gold jewellery, while Ahsan looked dapper in a suit. The event was preceded by the couple’s mayun, for which Minal chose to don a kameez and gharara, with the starlet keeping things from going over-the-top by opting for minimal embellishments, perfect for a mayun bride, setting the stage for the extravagance of the baraat. The actor accessorised the outfit with gajray in each hand and a matching set of gold jhumkas and a necklace.
