ISLAMABAD:

Police on Saturday submitted an interim challan in the Noor Muqaddam murder case to the court.

According to the interim challan, the prime suspect, Zahir Jaffer, has confessed to killing Noor after she refused to marry him.

According to the interim challan, the DNA report also showed the victim was raped before being killed.

The supplementary challan regarding the laptop and mobile phone report is yet to be submitted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber ​​Crime Wing, it said.

According to the interim police challan, the suspect made a statement to killing the victim and beheading her.

The interim challan stated that Zahir Jaffer told the investigators that when Noor refused to marry him, he forcibly locked her in a room and killed her.

The prime suspect told the police that he asked the watchman not to let anyone inside the house or let the victim run away.

Jaffer also hid the mobile phone of the victim in a cupboard of his house which was recovered on the identification of the suspect, the interim challan said. According to the prime suspect, when he told his father about the murder, he asked him not to panic.

The victim’s father told him that the servants will dispose of the body.

“If the police had been informed on time, the murder could have been avoided. The suspect’s father helped his son in this vicious crime,” the interim challan said.

According to the interim challan, Therapy Works employees tried to cover up the crime and destroyed the evidence. A Therapy Works employee, who was injured by Jaffer, did not even register the incident and it had been mentioned a road accident in his medical slip, the interim challan said.

It said that photos and fingerprints stored in the DVR also belong to the suspect.

According to the August 12 DNA report, the prime suspect was found to have raped the victim. Reports said that no effects of poison or drugs were found in the victim.

The interim challan also said that the victim jumped from the washroom and ran away towards the gate, however, the janitor at the gate did not help her. The gardener Jan Mohammad also did not open the gate. Had he opened the door, Noor could have run away, the interim challan said. It said that the suspect had booked a flight to the United States on July 19 but did not travel.

Meanwhile, the evidence against 12 suspects in the case has also been made part of the challan and submitted to the court. According to the challan, a list of 18 witnesses in the murder case has also been submitted to the court

Plaintiff Shaukat Muqaddam and Investigating Officer Inspector Abdul Sattar are among the witnesses.

Doctors who carried out the victim’s autopsy and medical examination are also among the witnesses. Polyclinic doctors Dr Shazia and Dr Jahanzeb are among the prosecution witnesses.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Basharat Hussain, who collected fingerprints from the crime scene, is also a key witness, while ASI Muhammad Zubair Mazhar is also among the witnesses.
