Health department to prepare training plan for school nutrition supervisors

The local administration on Thursday decided to depute mobile testing vans at all entry points of the district to end the sale of adulterated milk.

This was disclosed by Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Qamarul Zaman Qaisrani while presiding over a meeting of the malnutrition committee at his office.

He directed the health department to prepare a training plan for school nutrition supervisors to ensure the provision of best quality meals to schoolchildren. The ADCG said that the Deputy Commissioner (DC) has directed officers concerned to ensure strict monitoring of health related projects in schools.

“The DC has also ordered the relevant officials to initiate special measures for provision of clean drinking water and good quality food items for children in schools,” he added.

During the meeting, Qamarul Zaman Qaisrani notified the meeting that samples of water would be collected from all the schools and hospitals of the district and sent to the public health engineering department for qualitative assessment.

“Then on the schools and hospitals would be provided with necessary water filtration plants to ensure provision of potable water for citizens,” he concluded.
