Three policemen were suspended on Tuesday after video footage showing them torturing a citizen, who inadvertently bumped his motorcycle into a squad vehicle of Madadgar 15 in Lyari, went viral on social media.
The Madadgar-15 SP has suspended the police team and ordered departmental action against them when the video of the incident went viral on social media.
The video showed three cops on the Madadgar-15 team catching a citizen whose motorcycle had a minor collision with their vehicle and torturing him at Nawab Mahabat Khanji Road, Lyari in the remits of Baghdadi Police Station.
The driver of a passing vehicle made the video of the incident that went viral on social media. The video shows one policeman holding the citizen as another is throws kicks and punches at him and a third stands by.
The citizens present on the spot also tried to stop the police personnel from torturing the citizen, however, the three cops forcefully pushed the citizen into the police mobile.
After the video went viral on social media, Madadgar-15 SP Abdullah Memon suspended the three cops.
