Levies personnel martyred in the Mangi Dam tragedy have been buried after talks with the sit-in committee and Balochistan government officials turned out to be successful to an extent.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Major Zaman was buried in Zarindan while Zain Ullah and Mudassar Hussain were buried in Mangi.
However, it is pertinent to mention that the sit-in staged by the families of the martyred personnel and others has not ended in Ziarat.
The sit-in committee on Monday announced to convene a jirga three days later.
The government negotiating committee including Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau, ANP parliamentary leader Asghar Khan Achakzai, Additional Chief Secretary Arshad Majeed, Director General Levies Kadir bakhsh Pirkani and others held talks with Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai, head of the Mangi Dam sit-in action committee and convener of the Pashtun National Jirga,.
The members of the sit-in committee said that the next course of action will be laid before the jirga that will decide the next course of action.
They highlighted how the situation of the Pashtun homeland is not good as the struggle to end oppression and tyranny against them continues.
“We have to take decisions so that the nation can be saved from its problems and put on the path of development and prosperity,” the protestors said. "We strongly condemn the FC blast on the road, we strongly condemn the targeting of such poor soldiers and urge the policy makers and authorities to formulate a policy for the betterment of the country so that the people and the soldiers remain safe.”
Police sources said a case had been registered against 70 persons, including Nasrullah Zira, a member of the PkMAP for violating corona SOPs and blocking the National Highway during protests.
"For the sake of humanity, we have to look after the children of these soldiers. May Allah Almighty grant them patience and beauty," the sit-in committee members added.
On this occasion, Munawar Khan Panizai, Sardar Musa Khan Kakar, Rashid Khan Nasir of ANP and others were also present.
DG Levies Parkani, Deputy Commissioner Ziarat Omar Liaqat Randhawa, Commissioner Sibi Division, Assistant Commissioner Ziarat Zahid Ahmad Langau, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Kakar, Tehsildar Noor Ahmad Kakar, Risaldar Major Roz Mohammad Kakar, Risaldar Imran Damar, General Secretary Press Club Ziarat Abdul Manan Fateh Dotani, tribal elders of Ziarat, and a large number of citizens attended the burial ceremony of the martyred soldiers that were buried with national honor.
