Sindh reported over a thousand new coronavirus infections and five more fatalities on Sunday, raising the provincial tally and death toll to 437,973 and 6,960, respectively.
As many as 1,016 new cases were detected when 16,642 samples were tested for the contagion, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s House.
Another 1,000 persons also regained health overnight, the statement mentioned, bringing the number of recoveries in the province thus far to 382,648.
At least 48,365 patients are under treatment for the deadly virus, said the CM. Of them, 47,481 were in home isolation, 838 admitted at different hospitals and 46 patients were in isolation centres. The condition of 739 patients was stated to be critical, with at least 66 shifted to ventilators.
Of the 1,016 new cases, 335 were detected in Karachi and 108 in Hyderabad.
