Lahore police launch official website

Website has details of senior police officers and their contact numbers

LAHORE:

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has inaugurated the first-ever official website of the Lahore police on Wednesday.

SSP Discipline Mubasher Makan, SDPO North Cantt ASP Bushra Nisar, other senior police officers and media persons were also present on this occasion.

Dogar informed media persons that the user-friendly and one-pager layout based website of Lahore police is on a par with the international standards with unique features and is supported by a strong anti-hacking Drupal CMS mechanism.

The website (lahorepolice.gov.pk) has also a functional disability mode to facilitate differently-abled persons, Dogar added.

The website contains all the information and guidelines for citizens related to different services being provided by Lahore Police.

While giving details to the media persons, he said, with the prospective vision to incorporate digital technology in its systems, Lahore police have digitalised almost all its functions for online and better service delivery. Victims of gender-based violence can also directly launch their complaints using this website.

He further said the website has all the details of senior police officers and their contact numbers with the 'Who We Are' tab.

The website will not only serve the general public through its remarkable features like community policing, public service guidelines, digital systems and applications and Police Facilitation Centres but also facilitate police officials through its unique tab named 'Information For Police' which will ensure transparency of internal affairs by regular updating of seniority lists, promotion orders, exams and interview schedules, standing orders and orders affecting general members of any cadre of Lahore Police.

Meanwhile, Dogar also launched an awareness’s campaign of Lahore Police against gender harassment and violence to assure safety and security to womenfolk. On his direction, the SDPO North Cantt ASP Bushra Nisar led 'Women Safety and Empowerment Flag March' comprising of female police officers and officials of all the units of Lahore Police including female traffic warden bikers from Capital City Police Headquarters Lahore.

The flag march passed through different roads including China Chowk, Shah Rah-e-Aiwan-e-Tijarat, Jail Road, Gulberg and concluded at Govt Home Economics College for Girls where ASP Bushra Nisar delivered an awareness lecture to the students regarding precautionary measures and downloading 'Women Safety App' in their android phones to get immediate police help in case of any emergency.
